In the sixteenth episode of my third season, I am joined by Sehmat Suri to overthink about community.

We dive into:
• The value of reciprocity in community
• Hyping your friends and peers up. Celebrating with them instead of competing with them.
• Giving to your community while also prioritizing taking care of yourself
Sehmat Suri, known to many as Semi, is a digital media strategist, model, content creator, actor, and tv host who made Halifax her home in 2014 when she moved from India to do her undergrad degree at Saint Mary's University. Through her journey so far, she's learnt she's passionate about storytelling, sharing, and bringing people together, especially in people of colour. That led her to creating The POCketbook, where she organizes meetups for BIPOC creatives and artists to lean on each other and build their own niche in the Halifax community.

You can find Semi at @itssemiprecious and @pocketbookevents on Instagram.
