Books I've Written.

My husband Joey and I decided to write kids books as a way to normalize talking about mental health. Through the eyes of our Boston terriers, Hank and Bert, all four of our books are designed for parents to have open discussion about tough topics – bullying, grief and anxiety – with their children.
It's okay to not be okay and we want to be a part of ending the stigma around mental illness at a young age. |
LIVE LIKE A DOG: A BOOK ABOUT JOY.
Live Like a Dog: A Book About Joy shares Bert the Boston terrier's tips for finding joy. We could learn a lot from dogs, who are able to find joy in the little things... without even trying.

TESTIMONIAL for the trilogy;)
“Each of these books are a huge hit in our house, my son loves Hank and Bert! These sweet stories have provided opportunities for discussions around hard topics, sharing feelings and empathy, and even a few inspired art projects! We have read all three books countless times and continue to pull them out any time we encounter a hard day or need to refresh our toolboxes to manage transitions or new situations. As a parent, I highly recommend these beloved books!” — Jen Power

BERT'S TOOL BOX.
Bert's Tool Box: A Book About Anxiety highlights how we manage our anxiety with our own tool box of methods and techniques. Through the eyes of Bert, the Boston terrier, and his cousin Arnold, children learn about how they can create their own pretend tool box with items that calm them when they're feeling anxious or afraid.
