Fiona is a proud Woodland Cree woman with Scottish settler heritage and a member of Lac La Ronge First Nation, Treaty 6 Territory in northern Saskatchewan, now living in beautiful Kjipuktuk, Mi'kma'ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia), on the unceded, traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq. Fiona chaired the 2023 North American Indigenous Games, the largest multi-sport and cultural gathering in Atlantic Canada's history. She is married to Michael Parsons, PhD, a research scientist in the field of environmental geochemistry. They have one daughter, Ella, who is a student at Dalhousie University (Psychology major and Indigenous Studies minor). Saribel Deslauriers is a passionate sports enthusiast, currently volunteering her time with two national sports organizations and many more events. A fighter for women's equality, and an overall seeker of fun, Saribel is currently the Executive Director of the Downtown Truro Partnership in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Tara Thorne is a recovering journalist and arts worker in Halifax. She wrote and directed the Telefilm Talent to Watch project Compulsus, about a lesbian vigilante, which will be released theatrically and on VOD in 2024. Her sophomore Telefilm feature Lakeview, a queer ensemble comedy, is in post. Her debut essay collection, Low Road Forever (Nimbus), was published in the fall of 2022. She occasionally fronts the rock band Dance Movie and coordinates the Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival.
